The Government has made it clear that it wants a faster transition to the new resource management system. Now that the Planning Bill and Natural Environment Bill have been introduced, when can we expect the new system to begin?
The following table sets out the key steps and our estimate of when each step may take place. We are currently reviewing the Bills and will provide further updates on key changes as they become available.
