Greg joined Tompkins Wake in 2024 as a Senior Associate, and is a specialist in succession law. This includes estate planning, the establishment and administration of trusts and charitable entities, relationship property, and domestic and international estates. He has a particular interest in the law of mental capacity and adult decision-making.
Greg has experience advising individuals and family groups on complex succession matters, succession-related disputes, and his ongoing objective is to provide thoughtful, cautious and practical advice. Before joining Tompkins Wake, Greg was employed at a leading trust law firm in Auckland, and prior to that, a leading private client practice in the United Kingdom.
He is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, is affiliated with the Family Law Section, has contributed to Bloomsbury’s International Succession Laws and presents on succession law topics regularly for the New Zealand Law Society and other legal education providers.
In addition to his legal practice, Greg is the deputy chairperson and trustee of the McCahon House Trust and proudly supports the Auckland Community Law Centre as a volunteer adviser.
